cardio kickboxing routines

Many modern fitness and weight loss routines have lots of movements that were originally founded in fighting arts. Martial artists like boxers, mixed marital artists, and kick boxers all have to be in phenomenal shape to be successful in their disciplines. Cardio kickboxing programs such as Tae Bo, founded by professional kick boxer turned actor Billy Blanks have been popular since the 1990's.
The longevity of cardio kickboxing routines lies in their effectiveness. These exercises involve kicking, punching and jumping -- all in a continuous, non-stop routine. Not only will your muscles get stronger and faster, but your heart and lungs will become more efficient.

Another benefit that few people ever expect going into a physical strength and conditioning routine is better balance (mind and body), along with increased alertness due to the focus needed to concentrate on switching between movements.

How this any different from actual kick boxing and other martial art routines?
While kick boxing and other martial arts classes are great for conditioning, many people feel intimidated by the physical contact that is sometimes required in these classes: Cardio kickboxing classes don't involve teaching fighting movements, or grappling with an opponent, but rather kick and punching the air and working your body with continuous movement.

Another intimidating aspect of traditional martial arts classes is how technique is constantly stressed. While technique is great for self-defense and competition purposes: Some of us just want to work out and have a good time while we're doing it. Cardio kickboxing classes won't leave you feeling like a failure if you can't master the perfect punch or kick.

While Tae Bo was one of society's first introductions to kickboxing fitness routines for physical health, there are many similar routines offered at gyms, along with millions of affordable videos and books available worldwide.
